Alright, without further ado, here are the best engagement photos pose ideas!
1. Side Facing Each Other
To recreate this look, stand side by side slightly turned towards each other. The woman places her left hand on his chest and he wraps his left arm around her touching her back. Bring your noses close together (not quite touching, but almost) and both of you smile at each other.

This is a really easy pose and makes for a great photo! I’d suggest trying to have the couple be center of the image.
2. Noses Touching
Try touching noses for gorgeous engagement photos! For this particular pose, it works well if you can “prop up” against a wall like in this example. But, you certainly don’t have to. Have the woman place her right hand on the top of his shoulder and have him grab her waist. Touch noses together and do soft smiles!

Don’t forget to take some horizontal photos, even though you’ll be tempted to take all vertical!
3. Walking Away & Looking Back
I love any walking photos! These look more natural and candid. To create this look, both of the individuals walk away from the camera. Have the female turn around and smile back at the camera. Make sure the couple is holding hands!

This look gives the male a break from smiling, too. He will appreciate the break! Here’s another variation below of this same concept.

4. Front Facing/Holding His Arm
Keep it classic! In a field, both of you stand beside each other facing the camera. Have the woman grab the arm of her man with both hands! Have the man put his hands in his pockets and smile. Sometimes, simple is best!

5. Noses Together & Showing Off The Ring!
Show off that engagement ring! This is a more close up shot so get ready. You can do this one seated or standing. Put your hand on his chest and put the noses together. You’ll be glad you have picture where the ring is on display.

6. Sitting on Steps
Don’t forget to try some seated poses if you have steps nearby. If you’re taking pictures at a home, the front porch steps are a great backdrop.
Have him sit two steps above you. Copy the placement of his hands as you see in the image below. Turn around and look up at him and smile!

Next, while you’re still on the steps, both of you look at the camera and smile! You can toss your hand up over your shoulder to add interest to the pose.

7. Looking at The Camera & Showing Ring Off
Similarly to the post where you put your noses together to show off the ring, this post is a close-up. Rest your head on the side of his and smile directly at the camera. Have the male look down to the side and smile.
Put your hand on the top of his chest to show off the ring.

8. Walking Towards the Camera
Here’s another fun walking pose. Start walking towards the camera this time. Hold hands and look back towards your fiance!

9. Arms Around His Shoulders
These are some of my favorite poses. I’ve got three variations you can try! First up, wrap both arms around the tops of your fiance’s shoulders. His arms will be wrapped around your waist. Both of you face each other and smile!

Next, you can try taking the photo at more of a side angle.

Finally, have him rest his forehead on the side of your face. Look directly at the camera and smile.

10. Going in for a Kiss
These poses always turn out great! You can take some close up and some farther away. Simply grab his face with both hands and put your faces close together like you see below. Make sure you both are smiling!

If you can edit one black and white, that’s a fun touch as well.

11. Spinning or Dancing in the Field
Try doing some twirls in the field! These create fun “action” photos that are more unique. Everyone will love these! Just do a few slow spins and try to get as many candids as you can.

These really aren’t meant to be perfect at all. That’s the beauty of this pose!

12. Shot of the Engagement Ring
Some of the photos you can give your face a rest. Make sure to take photos of just the ring! You can hold hands for this image.

Having a vertical and horizontal option like above and below can be helpful.

13. Forehead to Forehead
A forehead to forehead photograph is an easy pose to recreate! Simple stand facing each other, put your arms at the top of his shoulders (he will put his hands around your waist) and put your foreheads together. You can close your eyes, keep serious faces or smiles, whatever you want!

Forehead to forehead also works for a full body shot!

14. Her Smiling & Him Serious
Here’s another unique pose idea – have him try out his serious face! You may need to try a few of these to get the right look. Once he nails it, have him look off into the distance. You can face the camera and smile!
For this particular pose, I stood facing his back.

15. Arm Thrown Over Shoulder / Him Holding Her Arm
For this last pose idea, both of you can face the camera and smile. Have the woman throw her hand over her shoulder like in the example below. He can grab onto the other arm!

Conclusion
And there you have it! I hope these 15 pose ideas helped guide you on your engagement photoshoot journey. These are great pose ideas if you are looking to DIY or to show your photographer for inspiration.
