Consider this the ultimate list of baby registry must haves. After doing tons and tons of research for my own baby registry, here is the checklist of items you’ve been looking for!

Starting on your baby registry is very overwhelming. If you’ve feeling stumped on where to begin or what to add, here are things to consider including on your own baby registry.
Where To Register
Babylist.com is the most convenient place to register because you can add things from Amazon, Target, Walmart, and pretty much ANYWHERE.
I’ve added certain items from very small online shops and specific retailers that you might not otherwise be able to register at. Of course, I also included mostly Amazon items for easy shopping.
Looking for Maternity Clothes? I shared all of my favorite buys from Amazon and beyond including the comfiest yoga pants, dresses, and more for dressing the bump in THIS blog post.
Baby Registry Checklist For New Moms
Let’s break it down into the categories that Babylist groups gifts. This includes feeding, sleeping, diapering, baby gear, health & safety, bathing, nursery & decor, clothing, and playing.
Feeding
First up is feeding must haves! The four things to consider here are a good high chair, bottles, burp cloths, and bibs. If you are breastfeeding, nipple butter and a nursing cover may also be helpful to add on.
Here are the ones I selected for my own register.
Convertible & Foldable Baby High Chair
I went back and forth on which high chair to register for. At first I had the Inglesina high chair from Amazon but then I swapped it for this one mainly just due to the price difference.
From my research of reading other blogs and watching videos from other moms, these seemed to be the best 2 at the different price ranges.
Organic Cotton Nursing Cover
When it comes to nursing covers, I was mainly just looking for 100% organic cotton options. I didn’t want anything super pricey because I’m not sure how much I’ll use it.
In the photo below, you’ll see that this one comes in a little bag you can fold it up and tote it around in! Throw it in the diaper bag like this for easy travel.

Burt’s Bees Organic Bibs
You’ll notice Burt’s Bees on here a lot. That is because the quality is top notch and most of the items are 100% cotton!
These bibs looked like the perfect size for baby and were super cute. I uploaded a full review video of these bibs you can watch HERE.

Boppy Nursing Pillow
Something EVERYONE has told me to register for was the Boppy nursing pillow. The covers are sold separately so I’ll mention those next below.
Boppy Nursing Pillow Covers
Since I’m having a baby girl, these are the covers I selected. You can find tons of patterns and colors to register for.
Organic Nipple Butter
I’m highly anticipating needing this, and this brand was the top recommended one by numerous people. It’s 100% organic which is great.

Reusable Nursing Pads
If you plan to breastfeed, go ahead and add these to the registry. They come with a little carrying bag and have the highest reviews.
Burp Cloths
You’ll want to add burp cloths to your registry. I searched high and low for a pack that seemed premium at a good price. This brand was 100% organic cotton and can be thrown in the washing machine.
NumNum Baby Spoons Set
Hang on to these for when baby starts eating purees or soft foods around 6 months. They are top rated and the easiest for baby to grip and use themselves.
Suction Plates
You may want to go ahead and register for some suction plates to use with the high chair once baby starts sitting to eat baby food. These are the ones I picked to put on my own registry!
Sleeping
Next category up is sleeping. Don’t forget to register for a crib (we already had one so didn’t need to register for one), crib mattress pad, and crib sheets. You’ll also probably want a bassinet for those first few months.
Here are some other items to add to your registry!
Baby Delight Beside Me Bassinet
I really put a lot of research into my bassinet selection. Of course, there is the ever popular Mockingbird bassinet which would also be a great pick.
But, I wanted something a little more affordable and I really really liked that the Baby Delight was made from 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton Fabric.
Here is what the Baby Delight looks like once assembled! We also registered for/received the matching Baby Delight waterproof bassinet mattress pad and these Baby Delight bassinet sheets.
If you are registering for the Baby Delight bassinet, I highly suggest also registered for those items as well.

Hatch Baby Sleep Bundle: Home & Travel Sound Machines
Everyone has suggested a sound machine and more specifically, the Hatch one.
This bundle includes the home and travel sound machines so it really is the best bang for your buck.
Love to Dream Swaddle UP
This swaddle is special because it allows babies hands to be up. It can help soothe newborns and let them sleep in a more natural position.
Diapering
Let me tell you about my diaper set-up and I’ll link everything you see in this image below that I registered for. If you want to recreate this changing table, register for all four of the items listed below.

I really liked how simple and basic this changing table was. It was a breeze to put together! I measured for size. before registering for these baskets to make sure they would fit this table. I think they fit in there quite nicely.
The changing table itself comes with a very thin mattress pad and all of the reviews said to go ahead and purchase a fuller changing table pad. I’m very glad that I did! I added the pink Burt’s Bee’s sheets on top of it.
Indi Neoprene Diaper Backpack
I splurged a little here, but I actually bought this bag for myself during the 40% off sitewide Black Friday sale. You could totally add this bag to your registry though!

Featured below is the size medium. I opted for the camel color for numerous reasons. One, it will work for future kids as well no matter the gender. Two, my husband can carry this around and not feel awkward carrying around a bright pink bag.
This is the diaper bag that everyone talks about. It is ALL over social media and Youtube. The material does feel very lux and includes a mini changing mat and some extra pouches. I really think this bag will last me years and years to come.

Of course, don’t forget to register for some diapers, too.
Baby Gear
Next up is baby gear! I looked at tonsss and tons of strollers and car seats. Some can get *very* pricey. I watched youtube videos, Amazon review videos, and read a few facebook/Reddit threads of moms talking about their favorite strollers and car seats.
Chicco Bravo 3-in-1 Trio System
The Chicco Bravo Quick-Fold Stroller paired with the Chicco KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat creates the perfect baby travel system!
I ultimately decided on the Chicco Bravo 3-in-1 Trio Travel System. You can attach the car seat to the stroller when baby is very young which is nice. It also just had so many stellar reviews and the price was right in the medium of what I found. It’s not the cheapest one out there, but it’s not going to set you back a thousand bucks either.

Baby Delight Alpine Deluxe Portable Baby Bouncer
I really love how this bouncer matches the bassinet I registered for perfectly. Baby Delight just had the best reviews! Plus, it’s one of the only bouncers I could find with a 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton Fabric.
LÍLLÉbaby Complete All Seasons Ergonomic 6-in-1 Baby Carrier
Don’t forget to register for a baby carrier! I watched a ton of Amazon review videos and this one the moms seemed to all like. It’s a pretty fair price, too.
Snuggle Me Infant Lounger
The SnuggleMe Lounger is one of the most popular lounger’s out there. It’s designed to uniquely hug your babies body in a soothing way.
It’s not for sleep, but for lounging around and chilling with your little one.

Health & Safety
Now on to health and safety products! First up is the LifeVac Home Kit.
LifeVac Home Kit
LifeVac has saved thousands of lives! If you have a fear of your baby choking, this will put your mind at ease. Make sure you set it up and read the instructions when you get it, so that in the event you need it you can quickly know what to do.
Below is what the LifeVac looks like when you receive it. It comes all packaged up easy to store.

Frida Baby Thermometer, 3-in-1 Infrared Thermometer for Ear & Forehead
Add a baby thermometer to your registry! This one seemed like the best option for me. It reads temperatures in the ear and on the forehead.
Naroa ® Natural Baby Hair Brush Soft
The softest little hair brush for baby! Helps to prevent cradle cap and is super soft for brushing little ones hair after bathtime.
Frida Baby NailFrida The SnipperClipper
These clippers have a “safety spy hole” so that you can make sure not to clip the skin.
Molly’s Suds Baby Laundry Detergent Powder
Molly’s Suds is one of my favorite brands of all time. I buy their laundry detergent for us and have for months. This baby edition one is perfect!
Bathing
Time to get ready for bath time! In the bathing category, things to consider registering for include a bath tub, wash cloths, and baby shampoo or soap. And don’t forget, adorable little towels for baby.
A spout guard may also be smart as they get into the toddler years. Go ahead and throw one on your registry!
Boon Soak 3 Stage Baby Bathtub
This tub has a customizable/moveable baby seat that grows with your little one. Whether they’re infants, babies, or toddlers, they can still fit in it!

I highly recommend these wash cloths! Comes in a 10 pack, certified organic, and great reviews.
Nursery & Decor
I tried not to put a lot of nursery and decor items on my registry because we already had the crib, bought the glider chair off a friend, and other than the changing table that is really all we had room for in our tiny nursery.
We did grab this gold lamp though for beside the glider and I think the bamboo shape makes it fun for a nursery. You could certainly add it to the registry!

Clothing
Clothing isn’t something I would put too much energy into adding to your registry. You will probably get lots of cute things at showers!
Burt’s Bees Baby Booties
I did add these booties to the registry, I’ve heard from numerous people that they are WAY better than socks. They don’t fall off!
The one item I did really want was this PJ duo. They are just so cute and comfy looking! Plus these have the built in fold-over cuffs.

Playing
Toys were another thing I did not really want to add too much of on the registry. You’ll get some anyways at showers and might find people with hand me downs. An activity gym though is one thing to add!
I looked at some that were $100+ (yikes!) and eventually landed on this one. I didn’t want something flashy or cheap looking, and this one seemed like good quality for what it will be used for and the price.
JumpOff Jo – Baby Gym Activity Center & Washable Play Mat – Includes 5 Early Development & Sensory Toys
The road trip theme is fun and it comes with a few sensory toys. Great for tummy time play!

Conclusion
And there you have it! This post has almost everything that I added to my own baby registry. From bath time to strollers and car seats, hopefully this list gave you some ideas of things to add to your own baby registry.
So go ahead, register for a Babylist profile, and start having fun adding baby things to the registry.
