I love the concept of high protein cottage cheese dip but just didn’t love the way it tasted with protein powder. So, I’ve made my own version of edible protein cookie dough with simple ingredients that I know you’ll love. It still adds a few grams of protein into your diet without the protein powder or raw flour addition.

Cottage cheese recipes are all over the place right now. Cottage cheese cookies, cottage cheese brownies, dips, breads, you name it – it’s out there! I’m a cottage cheese fan because cottage cheese full of extra protein. Most cottage cheese dips use coconut flour, almond flour, or protein powder. This one doesn’t need any of that!

The best part about this sweet treat is you don’t really need to measure anything. You can eyeball things and it will still turn out! The key is to use a food processor to get the cottage cheese to a nice and blended mixture. We don’t want any chunks.

What You’ll Need:

  • Small Curd Cottage Cheese (I prefer full fat but you can also use low-fat cottage cheese)
  • Peanut Butter
  • Pure Maple Syrup (helps cure those sweet cravings!)
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Chocolate Chips (dark chocolate chips, white chocolate chips or semi-sweet chips work)

For the cottage cheese, good culture cottage cheese is a great option. Daisy is probably my favorite brand though.

ingredients in a food processor

All you’ll need to do is blend all ingredients (minus the chocolate chips) in a food processor until smooth. Add in the chocolate chips and you’re good to go! If for some reason you’ve added too much peanut butter and it’s now too thick, try a splash of whole milk to get it back to the desired consistency. Personally, I like it more of a fruit dip creamier texture than the thickness of a traditional edible cookie dough recipe.

In a mixing bowl, add in the chocolate chips with a spatula to the cottage cheese mixture as to not break them up or crush them. Serve it up in a pretty bowl and sprinkle some extra chocolate chips on top! This is such a great snack idea.

This edible cottage cheese cookie dough goes great served with apples, strawberries, bananas, graham crackers, or pretzels! For best results, store in an airtight container for longer storage. It should stay good for a few days.

Here’s the recipe card if you prefer seeing the recipe presented that way! You could make this a few different ways by switching the peanut butter to almond butter or cashew butter for different nutty flavor, adding in a bit of cream cheese, adding a touch of brown sugar instead of maple syrup, or adding sprinkled instead of chocolate chips.

It truly taste like raw cookie dough made from healthier simple pantry ingredients.
