Are you craving a tropical mango smoothie? This mango protein smoothie is the one you’ve been looking for! It’s perfectly sweet, healthy, and high protein.
Drink this mango smoothie as an afternoon pick me up or an on the go breakfast option. It’s made with frozen mango, frozen pineapple, apple juice, and vanilla protein powder.

Make it your own by swapping out the apple juice for almond milk, using a unflavored protein powder, using peaches instead of pineapple. The options are endless!

What You’ll Need to Make This Mango Smoothie
- Frozen Mango Chunks – Frozen Mango is the star of the show here for this mango smoothie. You’ll use the most Mango compared to the other ingredients. Of course, feel free to add in peaches, strawberries, or go lighter on the Mango and make it equal parts ratio Mango/Pineapple if you don’t want as strong of a Mango Flavor.
- Frozen Pineapple Chunks – Frozen Pineapple adds more of a tropical feel to this smoothie and gives great flavor to this mango smoothie. I’ve tried pairing the mango with other fruits and always come back to pineapple for this smoothie recipe.
- Apple Juice – Apple Juice is the best compliment to the mango and pineapple. You’ll need a liquid of some sort, so while water or milk could probably work, I’ve found apple juice to be the most delicious.
- Truvani Vanilla Protein Powder – You can use any vanilla protein powder, but truthfully Truvani is the only brand protein I really enjoy on the regular. Most proteins taste very grainy to me and have a funky taste, but not Truvani!

How to Make This Mango Smoothie
Making this mango smoothie is very easy. Here are a few quick tips for success!

1. Mix 1 Scoop of Vanilla Protein Powder Into Apple Juice
When it comes to adding protein powders to smoothies, I’ve found that the key to success is to fully incorporate it into the liquid BEFORE adding it to the blender. This ensures that you won’t be left with clumps of protein powder in your smoothie and that you won’t have any bits of powder that don’t get fully incorporated.

2. Add Mango & Pineapple to Blender, Pour In Apple Juice/Protein Combo
I normally just eyeball it when it comes to adding fruit. I typically do about 1 cup of mango and 1/2 cup of pineapple. I like the mango flavor to be stronger, but you can certainly do equal parts mango and pineapple as well.
Then, pour in the apple juice/vanilla protein powder combo you mixed up already.

3. Blend On High Speed Until Smooth
Mix up the smoothie on high speed until you get to your desired consistency! I prefer the smoothie a little thick so I stop just once all the fruit has been blended.
If you need to, add a touch more apple juice if you are having trouble getting all of the fruit blended.

4. Serve It Up & Enjoy!
Serve your mango smoothie up into a glass and enjoy. It really is the best mango smoothie out there! Since it has a full 20 grams of protein, it’s a very balanced snack or breakfast.
