So here’s the story. On a road trip the only thing relatively nourishing I could find at the gas station were these little vanilla greek yogurt bites from a brand called Clio. They were TASTY and a perfect snack.
I didn’t love though how much cane sugar and oils were in them though. For a once in a while treat, totally fine. But, I wanted to make my own version at home using honey instead of white sugar. Didn’t love the palm oil etiher, sheesh! Why couldn’t they at least use coconut oil if they needed oil?
Anyways, they aren’t cheap either so I knew I couldn’t be buying them all the time.
Enter – homemade frozen greek yogurt bites! Plus, we’re adding FIBER with the chia seeds which is always a win. I’m always looking for easy snacks. They are great in the summer months, fall months, and really year round.
Best part about these little bites? They are so low maintenance! It’s such an easy recipe.
Greek Yogurt Frozen Bites
Ingredients
- 1 Cup of Plain Greek Yogurt
- Splash of Vanilla
- 2 Tablespoons of Honey (can do more or less depending on level of desired sweetness)
- 1/8 Cup Peanut Butter (or more for a more peanut buttery treat!)
- 2-3 Tablespoons of Chia Seeds
- Melted Dark Chocolate Chips
Directions
- Stir all Ingredients Together
- Using a standard cookie scoop (or small spoon works, too) plop little balls of the mixture onto a baking sheet.
- Let frozen yogurt bites freeze completely
- Drizzle, Dip, or Completely Dunk frozen bites into melted chocolate
- Finish off with a pinch of salt.
- Refreeze. Store in an airtight container in the freezer.

Combine greek yogurt bite ingredients (except for the melted chocolate) in a bowl. If you want to swap the honey out for maple syrup, that is totally fine.
Mix well until it is a nice creamy consistency.
Use a cookie scoop or spoon to make “plops” of mixture on a cookie sheet. You might want to line the sheet with parchment paper or foil.
Place in freeze until the yogurt mixture is FULLY frozen. You can either stop here and serve them as is for a lower sugar treat for your kids. They are just as tasty!
OR, move on and add melted chocolate and sea salt for a DELICIOUS dessert that is healthy. I tried completely dunking them in chocolate for a chocolate coating to cover them completely, but that turned out to be way too much chocolate. You couldn’t even taste the greek yogurt as much.
So, instead I shifted and just took a fork and “drizzled” chocolate over the tops as seen in this photo below. Might not be the prettiest, but sure tasted great! I don’t think your kids will mind if they aren’t the most visually appealing.
Don’t forget to sprinkle some flaky sea salt on top of the melted chocolate. It REALLY makes a fantastic difference! Or, sprinkle granola!

Variation Ideas:
I’m dying to try adding in some different mix-in’s next time. I think as long as you keep the greek yogurt + honey base, you can swap the chia seeds and peanut butter for other fun items.
Here’s what I’m thinking:
- Add a layer of crunchy granola
- Use cookie butter instead of peanut butter
- Make berry yogurt bites by adding in chopped frozen strawberries
- Add in crushed graham crackers
- Add Flaxseed meal
- Add Mini M&Ms

Skip the ice cream, try these instead! They are similar to yogurt bark but in bite form. These greek yogurt frozen bites are one of those healthy snacks that is nourishing for your body and straight up delicious. They are a great afternoon or snack or post dinner dessert.
